The ProfDHTMLEdit component allows Delphi and C++Builder application developers to incorporate "what you see is what you get" (WYSIWYG) HTML editing capabilities into their applications. The component uses Microsoft's Component Object Model (COM) technology to provide access to editing services such as basic HTML formatting, tables, undo and redo, etc. The editing environment provides a faithful representation of what the document will look like in the browser. In addition, the code of the component also accesses the DHTML document object model (DOM) to add sophisticated, custom editing features to the component.

The component neither requires importing any ActiveX controls into Delphi or C++Builder IDE, nor is implemented as a simple wrapper around the Microsoft DHTML edit control. Instead, the component provides the complete VCL-style object-oriented framework over the OS-level COM interfaces, and the use of the component is completely transparent even for a beginner Delphi or C++Builder programmer.

Following is the list of some key features of the component:
L support for Delphi 3,4,5,6,7 and C++Builder 3,4,5,6
L complete VCL-style properties and events
L ready-to-use built-in dialogs
L WYSIWYG support for tables
L WYSIWYG support for input controls
L customizable printing and print preview
L support for CSS
L support for Unicode
L optional source code preservation
L compatibility with Addict spell-check component
L very little addition to EXE size
L and more...
