This tutorial about web application gives you greater control over your web application by providing a detailed explanation about two important web application events like Application startup and shutdown, Session creation and invalidation. When your web application is first loaded and started by the Servlet container the Application startup event occurs and shutdown event occurs when the web application is shutdown.
