Code 1-15 of 15

I wanted to touch a particular web page (in order to open/close a database connection inside of Zope) so I came up with this module which uses urllib2 to make the web connection

I was not sure what a 'realm' was, so first I made the HTTPRealmFinder to find out what the realm is.

The HTTPinger calls my required page and acts according to the http return code.

This code implements a cache (CacheHandler) and a throttling mechanism (ThrottlingProcessor) for urllib2. By using them, you can ensure that subsequent GET requests for the same URL returns a cached copy instead of causing a roundtrip to the...

This small module builds an urllib2 opener that can be used to make a connection through a proxy using the http CONNECT method (that can be used to proxy SSLconnections).
The current urrlib2 seems to not support this method.

Say you need to make sure the HTTP headers to and from the server are right? Or you just want to track them like using Firefox and LiveHTTPHeaders. Use this custom processor to watch them. Note that I used the ClientCookie package, but this...

cookielib is a library new to Python 2.4
Prior to Python 2.4 it existed as ClientCookie, but it's not a drop in replacement - some of the function of ClientCookie has been moved into urllib2.

This example shows code for fetching...

The following code snippet can be used as daily crontab or windows scheduled task to watch the foreign exchange rate from BankOfCanada web site.
The file format is not fancy XML but a simple CSV for noon rate for last 5 days.

A slightly updated version of the script found here http://joncraton.org/blog/62/uploading-dropbox-python.

Uses mechanize to log in to the web page and upload the file(s) to the Dropbox root folder or to the folder supplied on the...

This recipe shows a simple, transparent (and hopefully pythonic) way of running asynchronous tasks when writing a event-driven application (i.e. GUI). The aim is to allow a programmer to write time-consuming functions (usually IO-bound, but not...

Downloads "All Recipe Authors" pages in ActiveState, uses regular expressions to parse author name and number of their recipes on each page. Finally, it displays the recipe submission distribution (the count of how many authors have...

Searches a website recursively for the given text string and prints all URLs containing it.

A little script I made for some buddies and I. We are constantly collaborating on code. This scrips takes a source code file as it's parameter and uploads it to pastebin.com or any sub domain of pastebin.
I integrated it with the righ click...

Downloading favicon of the website and save it to file, if website doesn't have favicon using default one.

A simple class that starts in a url and follows links to a desired depth.

This CGI script allows you to specify a URL. It fetches the URL and displays all the headers sent by the server.
It is based on approx.py the CGI-proxy I'm building. It includes authentication circuitry and I'm using it to understand http...

Web server based python object transport. This is a CGI script / MOD_WSGI script that allows you to remote your own code through apache or other web servers. Example client runs best with urllib3 for persistance however will also work with...
