It uses PHP's built in pop3 functions to login, get, and logout of any pop3 compliant server. The reason I built this was to create a frameless, javaless, aspless, style-sheetless, and completely old school html email client. With all of the functions on the server side of things, I have just exactly that. No PHP programming is required. Simply call up the variables file (which is how the administrator controls CowMail), change anything you want to in there and then call up the index.php file and its all ready to go. Sure, its a little limited as to how you can configure it, but hey, for what it was intended for, I think its pretty good. |
