Description: The objective of this program is to be able to measure distance from an object to the web cam you are using, this measure is given in centimeters(cm).
The interface is very simple, it consists of an axes space that lets you visualize what the cam is seeing, the program will draw a rectangle in the outline of the object that itd-deOaos focusing. Youd-deOaoll be able to see that there also are 2 buttons, one that says d-deDUStart Camd-deDt, and the second one d-deDUDistanced-deDt.
To make the program work youd-deOaoll need objects that are very white, in my case I used the screen of an ipod touch, I also tried with a paper ball, and a white ruler, but Id-deOaom sure that any white object should work as long as you have the right brightness in the room.
The process is like followed:
1.Youd-deOaoll need to start the cam by pressing d-deDUStart Camd-deDt, immediately the button will change itd-deOaos string to d-deDUCalibrated-deDt , before you press this button again make sure that the object you are using is at least 20 cm away from the cam, once you have done this, press the button again, this time the string will say d-deDUDoned-deDt.
2.Since you have completed the calibration process now you can continue to press the d-deDUDistanced-deDt button, and the program will start showing the measure right above the button.
