probability distribution function (normal distribution) 1.0 Description
Description: This function calculates the probability under the normal distribution curve, plots the graph and the area calculated.

calculating the area under a normal distribution curve
from -ve infinity upto point x.

x : point on the normal distribution curve
mean : mean of the normal distribution curve
sigma : standard deviation of the normal distribution curve
(hint: normal dist mean=0, sigma=1)
plotting: Plot the calculated area if plotting = 1
Output: area under the curve.

x=[-20:20] % your data points
sigma=length(x)/2/3.5 % PDF width is 3.5 sigma
mean=0 % mean between -20 and 20
normaldistribution(0, mean, sigma,1) % Calculate area from -inf to 0

These few lines will determine the first two parameters of the Weibull Distribution Function, in a fast way for real data

If you have a data file and want to plot a cumulative distribution function (CDF) with almost no work, this is the way to go. Also presented is a way to grab some values from the CDF curve, and a way to generate a PDF using standard Matlab functions.

I needed to use the cumulative normal distribution and normal probability density functions repeatedly for some data analysis. I found that I could speed things up drastically by using a lookup table and matplotlib's builtin interpolation function.

This is a class that allows you to set up an arbitrary probability distribution function and generate random numbers that follow that arbitrary distribution.

This function extracts a scalar/vector/matrix of random numbers with discrete Probability Distribution Function.
